Welcome to The Art Of Happy. I will be featuring anything that makes me feel good, that puts a smile on my face and in turn, I hope it will put a smile on yours! XO, Kerri

A 'Happily' Afternoon with Blogger, Eva Martino

You know how you plan a day and then it turns out to be completely different, but in a really good way? If you are anything like me, this actually happens a lot, I mean pretty much always.

We planned a morning shoot and interview with the beautiful Eva Martino of @Happily Eva a few weeks ago and it turned into an extremely fun and unplanned fashion show and photo shoot with absolutely no interview.

After a quick chat, Eva started touring the shop and was immediately drawn to my new hand-painted armies and denims that I just brought in.  Little did she know that one of them literally had her name on it- she picked her favorite which just happened to be Admiral Eva – I always name my jackets after people I know and love – and here she is!

My hand-painteds seem to be selling faster than I can paint them and now they are being sold near and far, and at some of our new retail partners in Raleigh and Charleston!

It really was all play, and no work that day, but we did have a few surprises including the two Plexis that we had made for Eva’s children’s rooms.  Eva carefully chose each framed print for each child weeks ago, and I was so happy to hand them over to her --   I Love Your Guts and Love Big Love– two of my favorites, will now hang over Marlowe and Major’s beds!

I would love to tell you more about our collaboration with Eva and her new home here in Westport. We spent time with Eva’s very awesome designer, Prudence Bailey and came up with some fun design ideas using our wallpaper and fabrics.  Stay tuned for the reveal, which will be coming this summer.  It’s going to be amazing.

Eva wears it well – our Drenched in Love T-shirt literally goes with everything, even a Ganni leopard print skirt (sold in shop only).

These are the kinds of days that I love the most – being with other people who do what they love and do it so well – it inspires me and gets my own creative juices flowing.  Eva has an amazing blog that really connects with me and so many others.  It’s not about perfection, but whatI like to call ‘perfectly imperfect perfection.”

I love our local Westport, CT community and feel strongly that we all should support each other’s endeavors.  It’s not easy being a mother, entrepreneur, business person, wife, and so on, so having good people surrounding you, working for you and being with you means everything to me.
